Feathers and Fangs: The Hunt

Chaos scanned the elk's grazing grounds. The tiny specks of brown seemed to not move.

Chaos did the same, wings folded tightly.

Ulfang pointed to one side, then the other, of the elk. "You go on that side, I'll go on this one."

Chaos trotted off to the appointed direction, ready for Ulfang to pounce and give the signal.

Chaos jumped, somehow triggering her wings. Beating them wildly, she dove for the elk, landing on its back. She clawed and bit at its neck, killing it bit by bit.

Chaos tore her claws from the flesh, to find them covered with blood. She hopped off the elk, and padded over to Ulfang. She looked at him, then the elk. She sat, allowing him to take the first bite.

Ulfang dipped his head in thanks. "Thank you. You're much nicer than you're name suggests." he said, hoping he didn't offend her. He walked over and ripped off a piece of the meat, then moved back and lay down, allowing her to get her share.

Chaos violently stripped a bit of meat form the carcass, and padded away from it and Ulfang. She began to tear at it little by little, hungry from a week of no food. She lazily let her wings sway in the breeze.

Chaos eyed Ulfang. She'd never had a friend, or a mate, or family before. Maybe this would never change, but sometimes life can throw a curve-ball.

Chaos shook her head and looked away, continuing to eat her meat. He hadn't any care for her. For all she knew, he could be scared. She finished her meat, and lay her head on her paws. She tried not to look at Ulfang, but a glance slipped out of the corner of her eye.

Chaos kept looking into his eyes. She couldn't feel emotions, or head any slight thoughts. What are you thinking...

Chaos looked deeply at Ulfang, vibes coming from him now. She narrowed her gaze, waiting for the right thing to come to her.

Chaos swept the thoughts aside, focused on just staring him down. Was he really scared? Did he want her as a friend? More feelings emitted from him. Like himself, these feelings were also unidentifiable to Chaos.

Chaos smiled. He was becoming sure of his mind, she could feel it. Suddenly, every hair on her body stood up straight, and her eyes widened. Is he feeling love?
