Feathers and Fangs: The Hunt

Chaos closed her eyes, to tune into his thoughts. Yes, it was love... he wondered... if she loved... she nodded stiffly, and opened her eyes.

She shook her head, chuckling. She padded over to Ulfang, and sat in front of him. Instead of burning, her eyes ere swirling with different hues of red. She smiled, looking deep into his eyes.

Chaos nodded long and smooth now. Her life had turned down the right path for once.

Chaos hesitated, but nuzzled him for a quick second. Her eyes ere also sparkling with tears, and they streamed down her face. A soft breeze rustled the scarcs brush around. Her wings twitched at the cool breeze, but she calmed them, not wanting to alert Ulfang.

He nuzzled back. Grief had no control over him now. He may miss his old mate, but she was gone. There was no helping that. His heart belonged to Chaos now. "I... I love you Chaos..."

"I love you... too," she said ever so softly, holding back the sobs.

Chaos felt all the pain and suffering end. Everything was fine and well now. "Does this mean..." she said, trailing off.

Ulfang's ears perked up. "Yes?" he asked quietly.

"...we're... I have a... mate?" Her eyes glistened at the thought, but the relentless killer still rest inside her.

Ulfang thought for a moment. "I you want, yes. And so do I. You know, one that isn't dead."

Chaos laughed a little. She looked into Ulfang's eyes again. So this was love...

How could this have happened? It all started with a stare...

Chaos felt bad for just glaring at him through the beginning. Now she had a mate... for the first time in her life, an actual loved one.

"Neither of us were particularly sure of each other... Now look at us. Ulfang cluckled lightly.

Chaos nodded, and wondered what it was like to have pups, if they ever did. How many would have wings, or icy-blue eyes? They could end up with a winglless Chaos or a flying Ulfang! She chuckled at both thoughts.

Chaos felt the same way... she felt the time will never come, but she didn't care. She had Ulfang.

Ulfang looked into her eyes. He felt the as if time had stopped just for them to realize how much they needed each other.

<Probably definitely... wait... what?>

Chaos sighed. All the pain just slipped away. Ulfang seemed to fix everything.
