Observance

Aren sat close to the water of Lake Winterhose, looking down at the fish swimming around. She wondered how a creature could possibly live in the water all the time. Wouldn't they get annoyed, never being able to dry off? She tilted her head to the side, still watching. With how clear the water was, she could see the varying shades of gray of the fish. She heard some creatures saw colors other than gray. Like green, or blue. I wonder what colors look like.. she thought. She stood up and bent her head down, lapping up the cool water. She decided to stay by the lake a while longer, watching the fish. Maybe something will happen..

Further up the lake (about 200-300 meters) towards the forests, Destur was face-to-face with similar fish as he took a drink from the crystal clear water. He however had no current interest in the fish; he was far more interested in keeping track of where the several large animals around the lake were, in case one of them happened to be hostile. Destur gazed around, breathing in the cool, crisp air and taking in the magnificant sights of the lake.

Suddenly, a faint scent drifted past his nose, putting him on full alert... glancing upwind he saw a faint outline of what seemed to be a canine standing and looking into the lake. Destur immediately took a step back, fading into the surrounding grasses, becoming practically invisible.

Aren blinked and looked up from the fish. Did something just move? She took a few steps back from the lake and sniffed the air. I can't smell anything.. odd. She looked around warily, hoping whatever it was that she may have seen would show itself. She stood there, alert, before sighing and thinking to herself, My eyes must be playing tricks on me again. She relaxed slightly and went back to fish-watching.

Skills/Weaknesses Easily underestimated/small.

Ibham Sadim felt her paws drum rhythmically on the grass. It was slightly hard, because it hadn't rained for a few days. Her long tongue was flopping out of her mouth at every step. However, she could smell water in the distance. Ibham huffed and shot herself forward, feeling the hot sun beating on her back with minimal shielding from the tall trees above her. As she approached the bright break in the trees, she slowed to a trot and carefully padded forward. Glancing around, she noticed nothing out of order- no, there! A wolf was by the water.

Ibham knew she could outlast many canines when it came to thirst, coming from the deserts of Arabia, but she didn't feel like loping off to another water source. Cautiously, she slithered through the tall grass to the water, trying to keep out of sight of the larger wolf.

In the meantime Destur had snuck closer to the unidentified canine, pawing aside a tuft of grass, he identified it as a fellow grey wolf. He was thinking about the best action to take when he heard the sound of running to his left, looking towards the sound, he identified yet another canine coming towards the river, he faded back into the grass to observe how this would develop. No point in making hasty actions... more likely to get one into trouble then anything... he thought as he lay down in the safty of the thick grass to watch...

Aren blinked, confused. Something is definatly going on.. She looked around again, then spotted Ibham Sadim. It was hard to make the wolf out, but yes.. she was there. Aren looked at her curiously, noticing she didn't look like a gray wolf. Maybe some other kind of wolf? She had never seen any wolves other than gray wolves. She wondered were Ibham came from. Nowhere around here, that's for sure.. Aren sat down, hoping the other wolf wasn't hostile, and watched Ibham curiously.

Destur rose to his feet as the two wolves closed in, he heard the newcomer say somthing to the wolf near the water. Well, this is where I get to find out what is about to happen... he thought...
He noticed that the smaller newcomer was extremly wary of the bigger wolf, so he decided to stay hidden so any movement or appearance didn't startle either of the two.

Aren looked confused for a minute, trying to understand Ibham through her accent. Then, managing to figure it out, "My name is Aren. What is yours?" Noticing Ibham's wary -- and hostile -- expression, she added, "I'm not a threat to you, unless you are a threat to me." Looking closely at the wolf, she figured if it did decide to attack, it wouldn't be much of an issue. Although.. a small wolf can be just as dangerous as a large one.. Aren hoped it wouldn't come down to a fight, she didn't come to the lake looking for one.

-Sorry. I'm used to where you want to get a 1,000 word post and you have songs and stuff. But then again I am on advanced RPGs xD-

Ibham eyed Aren. "My name is Aren. What is yours? I'm not a threat to you, unless you are a threat to me." the wolf was saying. Ibham thought for a moment. "Een Arabia, they call me Ibham Sadim." After a few seconds, she slowly added, "I theenk yoor words would be 'dark fog.'" The last few words slowly registered in her mind and she reluctanly sat down. "I am no threat, Areen. Unlees you bothair me."

"A pleasure to meet you, Ibham Sadim. I won't bother you unless I'm given a reason to." Aren sat down, glancing at the fish then back to Ibham. "I've heard of this.. Arabia.. place. Where is it, if you don't mind my asking?"

-Note- I am assuming they're in America for my purposes, but if they are in Europe (which I don't know the geography of) then take out "far across the sea" and just say "Eet ees desert a long travel away".

Ibham got a distant look in her eye. "Arabia... is a wondeerful place. Eet ees far away. I have been not there for many moons. Eet ees desert far across the sea." Ibham shook her head, and her expression cleared. Flicking her tail, she asked, "I wonder eef you know where we are? I do not, but eet ees very strange to me."

"I've never been to a desert before.. interesting. This lake is called Lake Winterhose, which the river leads out of. That's all I really know. There is the Arden Forest, Chetwood Forest, and a mystical cave.. I don't know why it's called mystical, though. There are also mountains and rolling hills, along with a swamp and the river I told you about." Aren stopped for a moment, then went on to say, "Oh, also, there is an abandoned human village somewhere, and a valley that is called The Valley of the Wolves." Aren looked back down at the fish. "I've never been to most of these places, however."

Deciding it was time to introduce himself, Destur pushed aside the grass and stepped out into the open, less then 3 meters from the two wolves.
"The Arden forest is located to the North East of here, and it's got a few dark secrets to be told, with the mountain ranges and the start of this watercourse to the North of the Arden... Chetwood is across the river from the Arden, there is a swamp that seperates them," Destur paused for a second and then continued, "If you value your lives, I would suggest not straying into it... The village you speak of is somewhere to the West across the lake, enemies of the wild canines are said to live there..."

Destur paused for another few seconds and then added as an afterthought, "My name is Destur."

Ibham darted backwards, snarling in surprise at the new wolf's appearance. Her lip curled back from sharp incisiors. "I have no eneemees, Destoor, for I do not disteengueesh between sadiq and gharim." Ibham Sadim barked angrily. Annoyance at being surprised overcame much thankfulness for any directions. "Although you may be a first." Any tremulous trust she had built was shattered. "Because I do not like being spied upon."


-So, I'm probably going to stop trying to lengthen or add different spellings for words as an accent 'cause I'm too lazy-

Destur grinned slightly, then he addressed the foreign wolf, "You may not distinguish between friend and foe, however just because you do not, does not mean they will extend the same courtesy to you."

After a brief pause he continued, "I also didn't mean to shock you, I just thought you could use some... locational advice..." Destur grinned again, "Anyway, I was checking if you were hostile... Since that seems to be at least almost disproved, I'm going back to my drink..." with that statement Destur walked over to the lake and started to lap up some water, while still keeping an eye on the two wolves...

Eh, I thought I replied, I guess the computer went wonky. I haven't checked this yet. Anyway, no muse today, sorries.

Ibham scoffed at the wolf's back as he walked to the water. How annoying he was. Stiffly, she walked to the lake side and took a few quick laps, still eyeing everyone else, though more the male than Aren, who she slightly felt easier around. After drinking as much as she needed and no more, Ibham backed up and sat down.

Destur hesitated, raised his head slightly, and then suddenly went tense, after a brief pause he snapped his head around from where he was looking over the water towards the grasses surrounding them..."Something is near..." he said in an undertone...
