The Stare That Started it All

Ulfang worked on the den. It was about half way done. He wanted to make it a little bigger than some others so that Chaos' wings would fit comfortably. He remembered the one stare that started it all. At the Beautiful Waterfall, they meet. Now, Chaos and Ulfang were mates.

Chaos stretched her wings, and padded over to help. She scratched vigorously at the back of the den with her mate.

Ulfang stretched. "Almost done. Thank you." he said, nuzzling her.

Chaos closed her wings, and ventured in. It was rather spacious, every section nice and clean. They did quite a good job. She walked out. and lick Ulfang's muzzle.

Ulfang licked her muzzle, too. Then he thought of something. "I'll go and get the bedding in a moment. he said.

Ulfang returned an hour and a half later, seemingly tried. He dragged the moss and bracken into the den, along with a rabbit he had hunted for them. Once everything was in place, he said, "I found something after I got the rabbit." Then, he gently carried over the medium-sized piece of Quartz, laying it in front of Chaos.

Chaos's eyes glittered with the stone's reflection. She outstretched her paw, and slid it over the surface. "It beautiful," she said, licking Ulfang's muzzle again.

Ulfang just enjoyed the moment for a while. Then, he got up slowly and moved the rabbit over to their resting area, as he wanted for them to eat it before it got too cold.
