Peaceful Thinking?

Venurice stared at the cool water in the Long River, then she sighed. She was tired from traveling and she was thirsty. Getting up from her laying position, she arched her head down into the water. Bringing her head up, she thought of her mother."I know we will have to win this war, I need to avenge my mother..."Then she looked to the sky and howled the way only a wolf could.

Just down the river, Ash was thinking about his pack and hoping the war could be over so he could get back to his family

Hearing a howl, he raised his head warily, looking upstream

Venurice looked up, suddenly alarmed. She heard something, but she saw that the noise was Ash and calmed down a little, though she still didn't like company much.
